College Unbound (CU), focuses on adult learners who previously faced significant barriers to attending college causing an unexpected interruption, and ultimately, a withdrawal. With interest-based, project-centered learning as its core model, the program is designed to maximize the returning adult learners’ success with a wraparound network of support. Projects are developed by the students and relate to their real-world work experience, community involvement or interests. At the center of the curriculum are the Big 10 College Unbound Leadership and Change competencies. These are the core competencies that foster the intellectual, practical, and social skills identified as essential to employers and necessary for success in life.
