About Equity Unbound: College Unbound partners with Equity Institute offering a TA to BA program! Equity Unbound is a collaboration offering BIPOC educators a pathway to a college degree. Equity Unbound was created to help recruit and develop a diverse teacher workforce.

College Unbound (CU) is an accredited and state approved college whose mission is to reinvent the higher education experience for underrepresented returning adult learners. Through rigorous and engaged scholarship, College Unbound integrates students’ own purposes for learning with the needs of their workplaces and communities, improving the lives of the students and the lives of those they touch. As a degree completion college, College Unbound provides access, support through completion, and career assistance ensuring that students get into college, stay in college, and move forward in their lives with a degree in hand.
Requirements
Specific activities will vary week-to-week and will evolve dynamically as befits a growing program, but core responsibilities include:

Supporting the recruitment and retention of an exceptional, diverse group of teacher assistants and youth workers as they attain their bachelor’s degree and teaching certification.

• In partnership with College Unbound and Equity Institute, play an active role in the recruitment of teacher assistants and school-based youth workers to attain their bachelor’s degree and teacher certification, including prospecting, candidate cultivation, and relationship building with key partners.
• Support spotless record-keeping throughout the entire recruitment and admissions process to ensure all parties have up-to-date information and no details fall through the cracks.
• Be the consistently welcoming face of the Equity Unbound team as you engage with candidates (through phone calls, information sessions, events, and other occasions).
• Maintain a high degree of respect, humility, and confidentiality when engaging with candidates throughout the recruitment and admissions process.

Supporting the management of Equity Unbound's Educator Pathway Program. You will:

• Contribute to the support and development of our program participants through 1:1 coaching sessions, phone calls, video chats, and texts. You might play any number of roles, including academic problem-solver, confidante, success coach, consultant, and motivational speaker.
• Manage execution of program strategy, including communications, online community moderation, and more.
• Manage the logistics of scheduling meetings with external stakeholders, including program partners and prospective partners.
• Develop relationships with local and state education agencies to promote Equity Unbound and advocate for necessary policy changes to the educator certification process.
