As CU’s development office is small and rapidly growing, the development associate will gain a breadth of development experience from database expertise, to campaign management, to project management of collaborations with foundation, corporate, and nonprofit partners. The Development associate will be responsible for:

• Recording all gifts and donor interactions in Raisers Edge NXT development database in a timely manner.
• Regularly reviewing data to ensure accuracy and completeness of development data.
• Providing weekly development progress reports for CDO and CU leadership team.
• Producing, recording, and managing all elements of donor acknowledgements from receipts to follow-up communications and requests.
• Developing and coordinating action plans for corporate and nonprofit funding partnerships.
• Building strong relationships across CU staff and stakeholders, with an emphasis on relationship building across partnerships.
• Conducting prospect and donor research and developing profile reports.
• Gathering research and reporting information in preparation for grant.
• Researching individual prospects and donors and keeping good records of all constituent interactions.
• Project managing events and giving day campaigns with a focus on increasing participation and community.
• Keeping current with up-to-date methodology for data integrity and regularly participating in training and technical support for development databases.
• Holding an expectation of excellence in written and verbal communication.
• Providing general administrative support when needed.
Applicant will have a minimum two years in gift processing, financial accounting, prospect research or project management. Applicant will have familiarity with gift processing databases, preferable raisers edge, as well as prospect research software and methods. Strong Candidates must sweat the small stuff, not only possessing a strong attention to detail and accuracy, but also a passion for creating, executing and documenting processes. Candidates must be familiar with the programs of College Unbound and share its belief that everyone has a right to access a college education. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, though experience will be credited!
